Rockies poke fun at themselves after 23-5 loss to Giants

USA Today

The Colorado Rockies have one of the best social media teams in baseball.

The tweets that come from the @Rockies Twitter handle are witty and funny.

But there was no joy coming from their account after a humiliating 23-5 loss to the Giants on Tuesday night at Coors Field.

The Giants pounded out 27 hits and scored at least one run in every inning except the ninth. Left fielder Alex Dickerson led the barrage with five extra-base hits, including three homers. He drove in six runs.

Shortstop Brandon Crawford and second baseman Donovan Solano also drove in six runs apiece. They became the first trio of teammates to each finish with at least six RBI in a game.

There will be better days for the Rockies and their social media team. But Tuesday was about as low as it gets for both.
