Duggar's triple caps Giants' surprising start vs. Buehler

Welcome back to the bigs, Steven Duggar.

After being called up from Triple-A Sacramento prior to Sunday's season finale between the Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers, Duggar immediately was inserted into the starting lineup.

And he immediately produced.

Duggar came to the plate for his first at-bat against Dodgers starter Walker Buehler with one out and runners on second and third in the bottom of the second inning. On the third pitch, he roped a 90 mph cutter inside the right field line for a two-run triple, the Giants' third extra-base hit of the game.

Duggar didn't spend much time at third, as Darin Ruf followed him with an RBI single to center. The Giants held a 4-1 lead after two, and added another two runs and two extra-base hits in the third inning, which certainly wasn't what anybody realistically could have envisioned.

Entering Sunday, the Giants had totaled just three earned runs and seven extra-base hits in 34.0 innings against Buehler this season.
