On their way back to New York, Giants release pitcher who no-hit the Mets

Chris Heston's reunion with the Giants didn't go as well as everyone had hoped.

After signing a minor league deal with the Giants in January, the 30-year-old right-handed pitcher was recently released by the club.

Heston appeared in nine minor league games over three levels of the Giants system this season. Most recently, he was pitching for Double-A Richmond in the Eastern League. In nine innings over three appearances, Heston allowed 10 hits, five earned runs, three walks and struck out seven. Injuries plagued Heston this season.

Heston last pitched in the majors on June 11, 2017 as a member of the Twins. He pitched one scoreless inning against...the Giants.
