Miguel Cabrera joined Giants legend Willie Mays in elite company on Saturday.

The Detroit Tigers slugger collected his 3,000th career hit on Saturday against the Colorado Rockies at Comerica Park.

Cabrera is the 33rd player in MLB history with at least 3,000 hits but just the third, along with Mays, with 3,000 hits, 500 home runs and a .300 career batting average.

Certainly, very elite company.

The Detroit legend will likely be a first-ballot Hall of Famer when he eventually retires. His remarkable 20-year career has consisted of 3,000 hits, 502 home runs, two AL MVP Awards, 11 All-Star appearances and a Triple Crown finish in 2012.
