The Giants trailed 8-0 after three innings at Cincinnati’s Great American Ball Park, but Longoria's fourth dinger of the season clinched one of the biggest comebacks in franchise history.
The Giants' bats woke up in the fourth inning, and San Francisco scored three runs to cut the Reds' lead to five. Cincinnati pushed its lead back to seven by the end of the fifth inning. Trailing 10-3 at the top of the sixth, the Giants' comeback officially was on.
Steven Duggar drove in Brandon Crawford on a sacrifice fly, and Vogt picked up an RBI in his first Giants at-bat when he doubled home Kevin Pillar. Joe Panik cut the Reds' lead to 10-7 with a two-run homer to right.
The Reds scored an 11th run in the bottom of the seventh inning. It was their last of the night, and not enough insurance to protect against a Giants comeback.
Brandon Belt drove in Vogt and Duggar with a single in the top of the eighth, and Longoria cut the lead to one with a line-drive single. Then, with the Giants down to their last out in the ninth inning, Stephen Vogt happened.
Vogt crushed the first pitch he saw to right field, as the childhood Giants fan drove in his third run in his San Francisco debut. Did we mention the 34-year-old hadn’t played in an MLB game since Sept. 30, 2017?

It was all too good to be true for Vogt and the Giants, but Longoria's solo shot in the 11th ensured it was.
Friday's win was the Giants' fifth eight-run comeback in franchise history, and the first since Sept. 4, 1989.
The opponent that day? The Reds.
