Watch Giants top prospect Joey Bart launch first home run in Double-A

Well, that didn't take long.

Less than a week after being promoted from Single-A San Jose, Giants top prospect Joey Bart made some noise in Double-A Richmond. He hit his first home run with the Richmond Fighting Squirrels on Tuesday. And it was a bomb.

The catcher appeared to be rather relaxed at the plate as he hit the solo shot during the first game of a doubleheader against the Bowie Baysox.

Bart, along with the organization's No. 2 prospect Heliot Ramos and No. 6 prospect Sean Hjelle, were promoted from San Jose on Thursday after putting up impressive numbers so far in 2019.

During his Single-A stint, Bart slashed .265/.315/.479 with 12 home runs in 57 games.

Bart has been progressing this season defensively and could see the majors as soon as next season. Giants president baseball of operations Farhan Zaidi recently said he wants Bart to consider handling a different position along with catcher, so that he could play alongside Buster Posey when Buster says behind the dish.

Zaidi has some decisions to make down the line, but in the mean time, we get to witness Bart tear up the minor leagues.
