Belmont Stakes live stream 2020: How to watch Triple Crown race online

The race for the Triple Crown will begin on a different track in 2020.

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Kentucky Derby, normally the first race, was moved from May 2 to Sept. 5, and The Preakness was shifted from May 16 to Oct.3. With the first two legs pushed back until the fall, the Belmont Stakes will serve as the first leg of the 2020 Triple Crown on Saturday when the 152nd running is held.

The Belmont Stakes normally is 1 1/2 miles but it has been shortened to 1 1/8 miles this year to account for the pandemic and the altering of the training schedule.

Tiz the Law enters the race as a 6-5 favorite and will be racing out of the No. 8 post. That's not an ideal starting spot for the favorite, as only five horses have won out of the No. 8 gate in the history of the Belmont Stakes. Tiz the Law recently won the Florida Derby and was installed as the favorite after Nadal, Maxfield and Charlatan all withdrew.

Here's how you can watch the 2020 Belmont Stakes online.
