2019 NBA preseason schedule: Kings to play two games in Mumbai, India

The Kings ended the 2018-19 season nearly four months ago. It doesn't feel that long ago, but a lot has changed in the NBA since then.

August just started, but a new season basketball is on the horizon, as the Kings released their 2019-20 preseason schedule Thursday.

The team will open up with a pair of games in Mumbai, India, squaring off with the Indiana Pacers at the NCSI Dome. Kings owner Vivek Ranadive was born in Mumbai, and has worked hard to build up the game of basketball in his home country.

Ranadive and the Kings announced the games back in December, as he hopes to make basketball a sport of importance in a country with over a billion inhabitants.

The two-game series will mark the first time a major North American sports franchise has hosted a game in India.

The Kings will host Melbourne United of Australia's National Basketball League on Oct. 16. in Sacramento's last tune-up before the regular season.
