2021 NBA trade deadline: Latest news, Kings analysis

Kings

The 2021 NBA trade deadline has passed. Some big name players have changed uniforms while others stayed put.

No team was able to put together a godfather offer for Bradley Beal or secure Lonzo Ball for the postseason, but Victor Oladipo did find himself changing teams yet again.

The Orlando Magic jumped out of the gates as the biggest NBA trade deadline seller with a fire sale that sent Nikola Vucevic to the Chicago Bulls, Evan Fournier to the Boston Celtics and Aaron Gordon to the Denver Nuggets.

Here's a recap of the latest trades and buyout news from around the league, with the most recent at the top:

A number of teams, including the Miami Heat, reached out to the 35-year-old forward. The Portland Trail Blazers were also said to be in the mix for Aldridge, but reportedly never met with him.

Aldridge will join a stacked Nets team featuring Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving and Blake Griffin, who are listed as a plus-250 favorite to win the NBA title this season, according to PointsBet

It wouldn't be the NBA trade deadline without Thunder GM Sam Presti adding to his team's horde of draft picks. With this three-team trade -- the first of this year's deadline -- Oklahoma City now owns 17 first-round picks and 17 second-round draft picks over the next seven years.

Editor's note: Rivers was later waived by the Thunder, and the Bucks reportedly are the leaders to sign the guard.

Kings trade Bjelica to Heat

Miami gets: Nemanja Bjelica

Sacramento gets: Moe Harkless and Chris Silva

The Kings didn't deal Marvin Bagley III or Harrison Barnes at the trade deadline but they did offload another big man in Bjelica. The trade gives the Heat much-needed depth at power forward.

Magic trade Gordon to Nuggets for Harris, Hampton, 2025 first-round pick

Denver gets: Aaron Gordon

Orlando gets: Gary Harris, R.J. Hampton, protected 2025 first-round pick (from Denver)

Boston gets: Evan Fournier

Orlando gets: Jeff Teague, two second-round picks

Kings acquire Wright from Pistons for Joseph, picks

Sacramento gets: Delon Wright

Detroit gets: Cory Joseph, 2021 second-rounder (via L.A. Lakers), 2024 second-rounder

The Kings got a head start on trade season Wednesday. A source confirmed to NBC Sports California's James Ham that the Kings landed Delon Wright in a trade with the Detroit Pistons.

Wright, a two-way guard, is averaging 10.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.5 steals this season, while shooting 46.5 percent from the field and 35.6 percent from 3. The 28-year-old has one more year remaining on his deal at $8.5 million.

Ham: What Wright-Joseph trade means for Kings' playoff chase

General manager Monte McNair faced a dilemma in his first trade deadline with Sacramento, but he showed the Kings are going to be aggressive in reshaping their roster.

The Pistons will be the fifth different team Joseph has played for in his 10-year career. The veteran guard is on the books for $12.6 million next season, though it's partially guaranteed.

Sixers looking at Lonzo Ball

The Philadelphia Sixers reportedly have asked about Lonzo Ball and Norman Powell. Ball's salary with the Pelicans is $11.3 million this year, while Powell is making $10.9 million with the Raptors.

Kings trying to trade Marvin Bagley III

The Kings reportedly offered Marvin Bagley III to the Pistons in return for rookie small forward Saddiq Bey but were rebuffed. Suns acquire Torrey Craig from Bucks

Phoenix gets: Torrey Craig

Bucks acquire P.J. Tucker for Augustin, first-round pick

Milwaukee gets: P.J. Tucker, Rodions Kurucs, 2022 first-round from Houston (via Milwaukee)

Houston gets: D.J. Augustin, D.J. Wilson, 2023 first-round pick

P.J. Tucker seemed to be toward the top of most contenders' shopping lists at the 2021 NBA trade deadline. Tucker lands in Milwaukee and gives the Bucks a veteran presence who can be a pesky crunch-time defender and threat from the outside. He can also be a valuable postseason commodity with his ability to play center in a small-ball lineup when needed.

The rebuilding Rockets, who at the time of the deal had lost 17 straight games, received a 2023 first-round pick, as well as the right to swap their 2021 second-round pick for Milwaukee’s 2021 first-round pick -- provided the pick falls outside of the top nine. Houston also sends Milwaukee’s 2022 first-round pick that it acquired in a previous deal back to the Bucks.

Ariza, most traded player in NBA history, lands in Miami

Oklahoma City gets: Meyers Leonard, 2027 second-round pick

Miami gets: Trevor Ariza

The Thunder continued to stockpile draft picks, acquiring a 2027 second-round pick from the Heat along with Meyers Leonard in a deal that sends Trevor Ariza to Miami. Leonard, who played in just three games this season before season-ending shoulder surgery, had to waive the no-trade clause on his two-year contract to facilitate the deal. He reportedly will not be joining the Thunder.

Ariza hasn't played since March 2020 after he opted out of participating in the NBA restart. The most traded player in NBA history, Ariza has now been dealt 11 times -- including three times in one week in November 2020, going from Portland to Houston to Detroit to Oklahoma City.

The Thunder's treasure chest of draft capital through the 2027 draft now includes 17 first-round picks and 15 second-round picks.

Editor's note: Leonard was later released by the Thunder.
