Fox details favorite part of Kings' NBA bubble experience

The Kings didn’t get much of an extended stay in the NBA’s bubble, going just 3-5 over the team’s eight seeding games and missing out on the 2019-20 playoff field.

De’Aaron Fox was one of the lone bright spots for Sacramento, as the point guard averaged 26.2 points and 7.3 assists over six games, before sitting out the Kings’ final two seeding games.

During a recent appearance on “The Old Man & the Three” podcast with New Orleans Pelicans guard J.J. Redick and Tommy Alter, Fox was asked what his favorite part of the experience inside the Orlando bubble, and Fox said the time there reminded him of his basketball experiences as a kid.

“It kind of gave us like an AAU vibe,” Fox explained. “I played AAU from fourth to 11th grade, so I was always kind of used to that with all the camps that you go to, you start to kind of see your peers a lot more than you would, if it was the regular season.

“I think I enjoyed that, being able to see guys a lot more than you would have.”

Redick, who also was in the bubble with the Pelicans, agreed, saying he enjoyed the team “camaraderie” that was built with so much time spent together.

Fox, a Houston native, also mentioned his least favorite part was the humidity that comes with summers in Florida, saying he “was kinda used to the heat, but Florida was a different level.”
