Kevin Huerter has played with two great point guards during his five seasons in the NBA, playing alongside Trae Young with the Atlanta Hawks to now having De'Aaron Fox as a running mate in the Kings' backcourt.
Huerter joined The Ringer's Ryen Russillo on the latest episode of "The Ryen Russillo Podcast," where the 24-year-old was asked about the differences between Fox and Young.
"Really not much," Huerter told Russillo. "I mean, they're both so good on the offensive side of the court. It's unbelievable."
The Maryland product actually believes that Fox and Young have more in common than differences, as he highlighted their ability to demand the ball in closing situations.
"They're both guys that can just take over games," Huerter continued. "Trae is a closer in himself. Trae demands so much attention, just like De'Aaron does that they do have a lot of similarities. Just point guards that can score and take over a game."
Fox showed his closer mentality in the Kings' 117-114 win over the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday at United Center, sinking the game-winning 3-pointer with 0.07 seconds left.
Young has shown that closing ability in the NBA playoffs, most notably against the New York Knicks during their 2021 Eastern Conference first-round matchup.

Now that the Kings are on the verge of ending their 16-year playoff drought, the national media and casual NBA fans will be able to see that closer mentality that Fox possesses.
