Harry Giles didn't play in the California Classic opener Monday night at Golden 1 Center, but it still was a big night for the young Kings big man.
Prior to the Kings' 81-77 win over the Warriors, Giles had a special moment with Sacramento legend Chris Webber. The two met in the hallway of the Kings' home court, and Giles said "the energy and love in that hug was deep!"

This might be the first time the two have met, but they’re very familiar with each other. Giles, 21, obviously watched Webber dominate the league, and the elder Kings great sees great potential in the youngster. Webber went as far as to say Giles "can be a lot better" than him before a game this past October.
There's clear similarities in their game, too. Both big men are great passers for their size and can finish with ease around the rim. While Giles' stats as a rookie aren't on the same level as Webber's were, their per-36-minutes numbers are.

Webber averaged 19.7 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists per 36 minutes as a rookie for the Warriors in 1994-95. Giles averaged 17.9 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per 36 minutes this past season for the Kings.

It's a lot to ask, but the Kings obviously hope Giles can continue to emulate Webber's game.
