The Kings find themselves as part of the NBA restart in Orlando, Fla. scheduled for July 31. But their path to the playoffs is not going to be easy.
NBC Sports NBA insider Tom Haberstroh broke down what Sacramento has ahead of them and he gave it to us pretty straight -- with a very relatable movie line.
“If you’ve ever watched ‘Dumb and Dumber,’ when Lloyd Christmas is talking to Mary Swanson and it’s ‘So you’re telling me there’s a chance?’ and there’s a one in a million chance. That’s how it should be for all those teams on the bubble there.”

Jim Carrey’s masterful acting performance aside, it’s going to be tough for the Kings. Not only because they are 3 1/2 games behind the eighth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies, but also because there’s a three-way tie between them, the Portland Trail Blazers and the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Kings can’t make any mistakes if they’re going to make the playoffs for the first time since 2006 -- but there truly is a chance.
Haberstroh said the odds are stacked against them, but the other teams in the same field are “not as hot” as the Kings are right now.
“If Marvin Bagley’s foot is feeling better and he’s getting back to normal, that’s another great addition to the team,” he added.

Bagley sprained his left foot earlier this year but was showing promise during his rehab in February.

Kings assistant coach Rico Hines also said the 21-year-old power forward is working hard to ensure he’s back better than ever for the restart. Bagley is still young, but has all the potential to be a star with the team. His offensive talent alone shows he could make a difference for the team in the Happiest Place on Earth.
