They say you are your own worst critic. But for Keegan Murray, that happens to be his father, Kenyon Murray.
After the Kings lost their matchup against the Miami Heat on Wednesday night at FTX Arena, the NBA determined in its Last Two Minute Reports that Tyler Herro traveled before his game-winner with 1.8 seconds left in the game.
Still, Kenyon Murray pointed the finger at more than just the missed call from officials.

“He wasn’t great on defense,” the elder Murray tweeted about his son’s performance. “His shot wasn’t falling, and he struggled a little bit in his defense rotations.”
But like any great parent, Kenyon Murray pointed out the rookie’s flaws while also looking at the bigger picture.
“Good thing this is only game 7 of 82. He might have a chance to bounce back this season. The team is competing. Every team is banged up. The Kings will be okay.”

Keegan Murray finished with a season-low seven points on 3-of-7 shooting from the field and 1-of-5 from the 3-point line. He also had four rebounds and three assists in 27 minutes.
The 22-year-old forward started for the fourth straight game but was subbed out with 9:26 left and never returned.
His dad is confident the rook will reset and be good to go next game.

To be fair, Keegan Murray has been playing as phenomenally as a rookie can play in his first five games in the league.
Before Tuesday, he was averaging 17.4 points on nearly 50 percent shooting from the field and nearly 40 percent from deep, along with 4.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 35.6 minutes.
It would be wise to not count out the reigning NBA Summer League MVP just yet.
