Over the weekend the Kings lost assistant Bob Beyer to the New Orleans Pelicans. On Thursday afternoon, they made an addition to coach Luke Walton’s staff to fill the void.

The Kings confirmed that Rex Kalamian is on his way to Sacramento for a second tour of duty with the team.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski first reported the news.

“I’m excited to add Rex’s experience and perspective to the team,” Walton said via press release. “His nearly 30 years in the league will benefit our group and I look forward to working with him.”

The veteran assistant spent the 2007-08 and '08-09 seasons on Reggie Theus’ staff in Sacramento. Over his 23-year career, Kalamian has spent time with the Clippers (twice), Nuggets, Timberwolves, Thunder and Raptors.

During the last two seasons, Kalamian worked on Doc Rivers' staff with the Los Angeles Clippers.
