Buddy trolls NBA 2K21 for 3-point rating with perfect tweet

Sometimes athletes, like the rest of us, use Twitter for all the wrong reasons. But sometimes, unlike most of us, they fire off the perfect tweet.

That's exactly what Kings shooting guard Buddy Hield did Saturday night.

Hield saw that he isn't even in the top 10 of 3-point shot ratings in NBA 2K21, and he clearly wasn't happy. Instead of lashing out, though, he gave everyone a simple reminder: He is the reigning NBA 3-Point Contest champion.

The Kings loved Hield's response, too.

Hield made seven of his last eight shots in the 3-Point Contest to beat out Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns, 27-26, in the final round of a duel of sharp-shooters.

The soon-to-be 28-year-old shot 39.4 percent from long distance last season with the Kings, which was the lowest since his rookie year. He shot 42.7 percent from deep the year before and 43.1 percent in 2017-18.

Hield has an 87 rating for his 3-point shot in 2K21. Indiana Pacers forward Doug McDermott is ranked 10th in the game for his 3-point shot and he nailed 43.5 percent of his 3s last season. If Hield wants to get in the top 10, he'll have to improve after a down year.

The Kings, of course, also would love that.
