Fox and Hield are in the middle of breakout seasons in Sacramento. Fox is averaging 17.5 points, 7.2 assists and 3.7 points per game in his second NBA season, and Hield is averaging a career-high 20.4 points per game. He entered Tuesday third in the NBA in 3-point percentage (45.9 percent).

Hield will square off against the Currys, Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki and Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard, among others. Fox will have to beat out a field that includes Mavericks rookie Luka Doncic and Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic.

NBC Sports California's James Ham reported last month that Fox and Hield would compete in events on All-Star Saturday. Fox, along with rookie big man Marvin Bagley III and guard Bogdan Bogdanovic, also will play in the Rising Stars game the preceding Friday.

On Jan. 29, Fox was asked about "potentially" playing in the Rising Stars game.

"Potentially? S---'s official," he said.

Now, so is his presence at All-Star Saturday Night.
