Kings fans chant ‘Light the Beam' after blowout win in LA

The "Light the Beam" chants are slowly taking over cities across the NBA and Los Angeles was the next city on the list.

In Sacramento's 123-96 drubbing of the Los Angeles Clippers at Crypto.com Arena, Kings fans made themselves known by chanting "Light the Beam" in the waning moments of Saturday's contest.

The chant got so loud that the Clippers' arena personnel attempted to drown the chants out with music, to no avail.

Fans in the stadium noted just how loud the chants got, especially considering the Kings were playing in Los Angeles.

After the game, Kings center Domantas Sabonis asked about the "Light the Beam" chants raining down from Sacramento fans in Los Angeles and called it "crazy."

"We're on the road, on one of the best teams in the West and we're hearing that," Sabonis said postgame. "So it's pretty cool. We feel the love -- we just got to keep getting wins for them."

Furthermore, Kings coach Mike Brown jokingly advocated for Sacramento's ownership group to install a more powerful beam, one that can be seen during the day when the Kings get a win.

What started out as the brainchild of Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé, Kings president of business operations John Rinehart, and others, now has fully taken over the Kings' fandom.

With the Kings' "Beam Team" moniker and the "Light the Beam" chant seemingly here to stay, the rest of the NBA better be prepared for when Sacramento rolls into town.
