The show must go on.

Despite protests and rioting erupting throughout the United States, the Kings host the Chicago Bulls Wednesday night at Golden 1 Center.

During his pregame media session, Kings' head coach Luke Walton addressed the current state of America as police removed armed individuals from the Capitol building in Washington D.C. earlier in the day.

“It’s a sad day for our country and it continues to be one of those things where we have to look to be united and come together and support each other much more than we’ve shown," Walton said. "One of the beautiful things about sports is that sports usually does that. As a country, we really need to look to continue to come together much more.”

According to Walton, the team arrived just before a late afternoon shootaround and had yet to discuss the situation that is consuming the news cycle in America and around the globe.

The Kings franchise has yet to make a public statement regarding the events of the day.
