SACRAMENTO -- Marvin Bagley III is on the mend. After missing the last seven games with a bone bruise in his left knee, the rookie power forward was re-evaluated Friday morning and according to the team’s medical staff, he will resume basketball related activities in approximately two weeks.

Taken with the second overall selection in the 2018 NBA Draft, the 6-foot-11 big out of Duke University is averaging 12.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 23.1 minutes per game this season off the Kings’ bench.

Sacramento continues to take a cautious approach with the 19-year-old. He was on crutches as late as last week and they will wait until the joint is completely healed before running him back out on the court.

Bagley originally injured the knee in a fall during the team’s loss to the Golden State Warriors on Dec. 14. He has steadily improved over the last 14 days, but there is no official date set for his return.
