Kings' Marvin Bagley mad coronavirus fears end brother's high school career

It's been a while since we've heard from Marvin Bagley III on the court, but the Kings' big man was anything but quiet on Twitter on Saturday.

Bagley sounded off on news that the Elk Grove Unified School District (EKUSD) announced that it was closing all schools for the coming week and canceling all sporting events due to fears over the coronavirus outbreak.

Marvin's younger brother, Marcus, plays for Sheldon High School, which was set to play in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Open Division Regional Semifinal against Dublin High School on Saturday night.

Sheldon was the No. 1 seed in the Northern California section of the bracket.

The game was scheduled to be played in South Sacramento at Cosumnes River College, but because EKUSD canceled all sporting events, the CIF's governing body decided to advance Dublin High School in the tournament. The Sacramento Bee reported Saturday that there was no option to move the game to another location.

This effectively ends the high school career of Marcus Bagley, and his older brother clearly was not happy.

The elder Bagley brother has had a rough season for the Kings. Injuries have cost him a majority of the season, limiting the 2018 No. 2 overall draft pick to just 13 games.

The most recent update on Bagley came on Feb. 20 when the Kings announced he would see a specialist for his left mid-foot sprain and that he would be re-evaluated in three weeks. That benchmark is coming up in a few days.
