Kings' Richaun Holmes re-evaluated in couple weeks with shoulder injury

The Kings have been absolutely hammered by the injury bug this season, and the news got worse Sunday.

Center Richaun Holmes, who hurt his right shoulder on Jan. 6 against the Warriors, has an injury to his shoulder joint and will be re-evaluated in two to three weeks, the Kings announced.

The loss of Holmes is a big one for the Kings. He has been their MVP this season. He was signed this offseason to be the Kings' backup center but took over the starting job due to the poor play of fellow offseason signee Dewayne Dedmon. Ever since taking over the starting job, Holmes has been a key cog for Luke Walton's team as they try to tread water amid a sea of injuries.

Holmes is averaging 13.1 points per game and 8.5 rebounds on the season.

It will be up to Harry Giles and Dedmon to pick up the slack until Holmes returns.
