Kings send Harry Giles to G League Stockton to get some playing time

SACRAMENTO -- Following the team’s loss to the Los Angeles Lakers Saturday evening, the Kings sent rookie big man Harry Giles III to their G League affiliate in Stockton.

Giles, 20, has struggled to find playing time early in the season, playing just 87 total minutes over nine games for the Kings.

Lost in a crowded frontline that includes fellow rookie Marvin Bagley III, as well as veterans Willie Cauley-Stein, Nemanja Bjelica and Kosta Koufos, Giles has posted 3.8 points and 2.8 rebounds in 10.6 minutes per game.

After redshirting last season in Sacramento, the former Duke big man is expected to play with the Stockton Kings Sunday afternoon when the team hosts the Agua Caliente Clippers at the Stockton Arena.

It’s unlikely the move is long term, but Giles needs reps on the floor, which is difficult to do in Sacramento with so many bigs on the roster and the team finding success early in the season.
