The Sacramento Kings continued their attempts to fortify late Saturday evening and early Sunday. So far, they have missed on veteran forwards, but they still have a few irons in the fire.

  • According to Andre Iguodala himself via twitter, the veteran is headed back to the Golden State Warriors. The Kings were in the final bidding, but according to USA Today’s Sam Amick, they stopped short of the three-year, $48 million Golden State gave the 33-year-old.
  • According to Amick, Sacramento bowed out of the Danilo Gallinari sweepstakes as well on Sunday morning. The smooth shooting forward is still choosing between a return to Denver or a possible move to the Clippers.
  • Multiple reports had the Kings meeting with restricted free agent Otto Porter on Sunday. The 24-year-old wing is a perfect fit for their youth movement, but the Washington Wizards have promised to match any offer, despite the implications to their cap situation. Porter will likely garner a max money offer sheet and the Wizards will have 48 hours to decide whether to match or let him go in free agency.
  • P.J. Tucker was supposed to meet with the Kings on Sunday, but instead, he inked a four-year, $32 million deal with the Houston Rockets according to Jonathan Feigen.
  • Sacramento had shown interest in power forward Taj Gibson, but according to Shams Charania of The Vertical, the veteran signed with Minnesota for two-year, $28 million.
