The Kings' 2021-22 NBA season has been a disappointment but two of their young stars will get a chance to showcase their skills during All-Star weekend later in February.

Guards Tyrese Haliburton and Davion Mitchell were named to the NBA Rising Stars Game rosters Tuesday.

Haliburton was named to the Sophomore team, while Mitchell was selected to the Rookie squad. The game will take place on Friday, Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. PT at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland.

Haliburton, the No. 12 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, was selected to be part of the game as a rookie last season, but the event never was played due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 48 games this season, Haliburton is averaging 14.4 points, 7.2 assists and 3.9 rebounds in 34.2 minutes. In the Kings' loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday, the second-year pro set a career high with 38 points.

Mitchell, the No. 9 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, is averaging 9.6 points, 3.3 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 25.2 minutes over 46 games this season.

While Mitchell is headed to Cleveland, the Warriors' two 2021 lottery draft picks -- Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody -- were not named to the Rookies roster.

There were 12 sophomores, 12 rookies and four G League Ignite players selected for the Rising Stars Game. The pool of 28 players will be broken up into four teams through a draft. Team A will face Team B, while Team C will go against Team D. The winners of those games will face each other in a championship game.
