The Los Angeles Lakers fittingly have a number of famous celebrity fans, with entertainers and influencers alike often lining the courtside and premium seating areas at home games. One famous superfan who was not in attendance for the Kings' wild triple-overtime win over the Lakers was singer Halsey, whose power outage forced her to watch Friday night's game from a local Applebee's.
The Platinum recording artist live-tweeted her way through the game from her basketball-centric second account, and it's safe to say she has had more enjoyable viewing experiences as a Lakers fan.
"My power is out so I’m watching the lakers suck from a (sic) f----n Applebee’s and the 8-year-old next to me just asked his mom 'why is life so hard?' kid…," Halsey said during the third quarter.
The Lakers had championship aspirations early in the season, but have floundered to a 10-11 start after Friday night's 141-138 loss to the Kings.
After Anthony Davis put the Lakers ahead by two in the final seconds of the first overtime, Halsey expressed her excitement over what she hoped would be a close Lakers win. However, Buddy Hield had other ideas.
With fans curious if she was indeed at an Applebee's, she shared some evidence of her dessert order from the restaurant.
Once the Kings ended up hanging on for a win in three overtimes, Halsey summed up the night well from a Lakers fan's perspective.
She will have another opportunity to live-tweet a Kings game soon, as her Lakers will visit Golden 1 Center on Tuesday night.
