Losing streak now at seven, Kings offense struggles vs Grizzlies
McLemore looked good. After four seasons in Sacramento, the high-flier hit 3-of-7 from long range and a perfect 6-of-6 from the line to post 21 against the Kings.
STANDOUT PERFORMER II
Vince Carter got hot. Without the 40-year-old veteran, the Kings might have lost by 30. Carter knocked down 5-of-6 from behind the arc to score 15 points.
STANDOUT PERFORMER III
De’Aaron Fox continues to show signs. The 20-year-old attacked the rim to come away with 16 points and six assists in the loss. His improvements on defense are noticeable.
Halftime ended and the Kings forgot to come back out and play the third. After playing to a 40-40 tie at the intermission, Memphis outscored Sacramento 66-48 in the second half to come away with the victory.
George Hill and Kosta Koufos sat out as healthy scratches against the Grizzlies. Skal Labissiere returned after missing a game with a left shoulder strain. Frank Mason III is out another 2-4 weeks with a partial tear of the right plantar fascia. Harry Giles is out for the season.
The Kings continue the road trip Monday in Charlotte. They’ll follow that game up with a back-to-back Tuesday against the Orlando Magic.
