NBA draft prospect Sengun posts photo outside Kings' arena

The Kings, who hold the No. 9 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, are being secretive about which prospects they are working out, but the players themselves aren't hiding anything.

Alperen Sengun, a 6-foot-9 Turkish center, is the latest draft prospect to show off the fact that he was in Sacramento meeting with the team, despite the Kings not publicly releasing who they are working out.

Sengun posted a photo on his Instagram Story standing outside Golden 1 Center in downtown Sacramento.

Sengun joins fellow prospects Moses Moody and Kai Jones to post photos during their stops in Sacramento.

Sengun, 18, plays for Beşiktaş in the Turkish Super League, and he put up impressive numbers in his first season. In 29 games, he averaged 19.2 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 28.3 minutes.

NBC Sports Bay Area's James Ham has Sengun going No. 16 overall to the Oklahoma City Thunder in his post-combine Mock Draft 8.0.

"Sengun is putting up huge numbers in the Turkish Super League, which is bound to get an NBA team to bite," Ham wrote. "The 18-year-old has a big body, plays extremely well in the pick-and-roll and has shown some ability to play defense. He needs plenty of work, especially on his body, but he has a soft touch around the rim.

"Someone will take a chance with Sengun. The numbers he’s posting overseas are crazy for a kid his age. The Thunder could use a big man for the future, especially with Al Horford being sent to Boston in the Walker trade. Sam Presti has a war chest to work with and can swing for the fences in every draft for the next half decade."

Sengun is unlikely to go as high as No. 9, where the Kings are slated to pick, but if he impressed them enough during his workout Saturday, there's a chance he could slide all the way up into the top 10.

Or the Kings could trade down, acquire most assets and get Sengun in the middle of the first-round.

With less than two weeks to go until the 2021 draft, the Kings are doing their homework and hosted another top prospect.

Sengun likely won't be the last prospect to reveal they visited the Kings, even if the team won't say anything.
