NBA schedule 2019-20: Kings to play just one nationally televised game

Share

The Sacramento Kings continue to be the Rodney Dangerfield of the NBA world. They get "no respect".

When the 2019-20 Kings schedule was released Monday at noon, it was neatly broken into columns labeled DAY, DATE, OPPONENT, TIME and NAT’L TV. All of those columns were filled in, except for the last one.

The Kings have a lone game on national television, set for Mar. 11 against the New Orleans Pelicans and highly touted rookie Zion Williamson on ESPN. They have seven additional NBA TV games, but those are not considered national games.

Even De'Aaron Fox appeared shocked by the news.

After posting a 39-43 record and finishing in ninth place in the Western Conference, the Kings do not have a single TNT game. Charlotte, Indiana, Memphis, OKC and Phoenix all have one, while Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Minnesota, Orlando and Washington join the Kings on the outside looking in.

Sacramento is featured on NBA TV on the following dates: Nov. 12 (Blazers), Dec. 2 (Bulls), Jan. 6 (Warriors), Feb. 10 (Bucks), Mar. 8 (Raptors), Mar. 17 (Mavericks) and Mar. 19 (Rockets).
