President Donald Trump asks for invite to Kings' preseason game in India

India will be hosting its first NBA game ever in less than two weeks when the Kings and Pacers play two preseason games on Oct. 4 and 5, and it sounds like President Donald Trump wants an invite.

"And very soon, India will have access to another world class American product -- NBA basketball. Wow, sounds good," Trump said Sunday at the Howdy Modi event in Houston, Texas. "Next week, thousands of people will gather in Mumbai to watch the first-ever NBA basketball game in India.

"Am I invited Mr. Prime Minister? I may come. Be careful, I may come."

The first of the two games is closed off to the general public, only being played in front of 3,000 children from more than 70 schools under the Reliance Foundation Jr. NBA program.

But on Oct. 5, fans who purchased tickets will be able to watch their first NBA game in person in India.

The NBA India Games will be the first time professional sports teams from North America will play in India. And if Trump gets his wish, there could be a surprise visitor.
