BOSTON – The status of Boston Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas for Sunday’s Game 1 matchup against the Chicago Bulls is unclear after his sister was killed in a one-car accident on Saturday morning.
Chyna J. Thomas, 22, died in a one-car accident on Interstate 5 in Federal Way, Wash., according to the Tacoma (Wash.) News Tribune.
“We are terribly saddened by the tragic loss of Chyna Thomas,” read a statement released by the Celtics Saturday night. “The thoughts and prayers of the entire Celtics organization are with Isaiah and his family.”

According to the Washington State Patrol, she died at the scene of the accident which occurred around 5 a.m. Saturday.
