The Sacramento Kings took a small step to address their need at small forward on Tuesday. Sacramento signed 25-year-old Jamel Artis to a deal, a source confirmed to NBC Sports California's James Ham.
In 15 games with the Orlando Magic last season, Artis averaged 5.1 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 18.6 minutes per game. He played 46 games with the Lakeland Magic in the G-League, and was third on Lakeland in scoring (19.5 points per game).

A four-year player at the University of Pittsburgh, Artis signed with the New York Knicks as an undrafted free agent last August, but was waived in October. He signed a two-way deal with the Magic later that month.
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski first reported the signing.
The move comes one day after the Kings signed rookie Wenyen Gabriel to a two-way contract.
