Trevor Ariza scored five points in 21 minutes in the Kings' preseason win over the Suns on Thursday night.

But his Friday morning wasn't as pleasant.

The Kings announced that Ariza had a lipoma removed from his back Friday morning.

Ariza will miss the Kings' final two preseason games, and will be re-evaluated following the Oct. 16 game against Melbourne United.

The 34-year-old signed a two-year, $25 million contract with the Kings this offseason and is expected to provide a stabilizing veteran presence on the second unit.

As for Harry Giles, the 21-year-old big man will also miss the final two preseason games as he recovers from left knee soreness.

Giles missed the Kings' trip to India last week and underwent a precautionary MRI on his knee on Sept. 30. The test came back clean.

The Kings are playing it safe with Giles, who has a history of serious knee injuries. The goal is to have him ready for the regular season.

Sacramento wraps up the preseason with a game in Utah on Monday, Oct. 14 and a home game against Melboune United on Wednesday, Oct. 16. After a week off, the Kings open the 2019-20 regular season against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
