Naomi Osaka is taking some more time to focus on her mental health.

The four-time Grand slam champion announced Thursday that she will skip Wimbledon to take "some personal time with family and friends."

Osaka said she still plans to be ready for the Tokyo Olympics. Tennis at the 2020 Summer Olympics is scheduled to begin on July 24 and run through Aug. 1.

Last month, Osaka withdrew from the French Open after she was fined $15,000 by tennis officials for saying she would not participate in media interviews during the tournament.

She opened up about her battle with depression and how she deals with social anxiety when speaking to the media in a statement on Twitter.

Osaka is still the No. 2 ranked tennis player in the world with two victories each at the Australian Open and U.S. Open. She reached the Round of 32 at Wimbledon in 2017 and 2018 before falling out in the first round in 2019. The tournament was canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
