NEW THIS SEASON:

49ers analyst Jeff Garcia – Former 49ers quarterback (1999-2003) Jeff Garcia will serve as an NBC Sports Bay Area analyst on 49ers Pregame Live and 49ers Postgame Live, and will co-host “The 49ers Insider Podcast” with NBCSportsBayArea.com 49ers Insider Matt Maiocco (@MaioccoNBCS).  The four-time Pro Bowl quarterback also played for the Cleveland Browns (2004), Detroit Lions (2005), Philadelphia Eagles (2006, 2009) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2007-2008).  Garcia, a native of Gilroy, threw 161 touchdowns and passed for 25,537 yards in his 11-year NFL career.  Following his career at San Jose State University (1991-1993), he played for the CFL’s Calgary Stampeders (1994-1998), where he was a four-time West Division All-Star and won a Grey Cup championship.

49ers Game Plan presented by Nissan49ers Game Plan – hosted by NBC Sports Bay Area’s Dave Feldman (@FeldyNBCS) – is a new, half-hour program featuring a weekly sit-down with either 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan or general manager John Lynch, that will debut on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 9 p.m. on NBC Bay Area, and will re-air at 10 p.m. on NBC Sports Bay Area.  Each week during the NFL season, Shanahan or Lynch will provide The Faithful with an insightful preview of the 49ers’ next opponent, and a recap the team’s previous game.  49ers Game Plan will also include features, game highlights, and interviews with current and former players, coaches, front office personnel and other insiders.  49ers Game Plan will air on NBC Bay Area on Saturdays, and will re-air 10 p.m. on Saturdays on NBC Sports Bay Area.  Visit NBCBayArea.com and NBCSportsBayArea.com for air dates and times.

49ers Pregame Live presented by Toyota – Prior to every home game at Levi’s® Stadium, NBC Sports Bay Area kicks off its 49ers game day coverage with 49ers Pregame Live – the only live, locally produced 49ers pregame show.  49ers Pregame Live – a one-hour show that debuts on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 12 p.m. on NBC Sports Bay Area Plus before the 49ers/Panthers game – provides the latest game day news, player updates, a detailed game preview and analysis, and on-field pregame reports. 49ers Pregame Live is hosted by NBC Sports Bay Area’s Dave Feldman, former 49ers defensive end and Super Bowl XXIX champion Dennis Brown (@DTBrownSF), and former 49ers quarterback Jeff Garcia. Plus, NBCSportsBayArea.com 49ers Insider Matt Maiocco will provide additional pregame coverage with up-to-the-minute game day information.  49ers Pregame Live will broadcast live from the Faithful Mile – the official tailgate party location of 49ers games at Levi’s® Stadium – one hour prior to every home game. 49ers Postgame Live presented by Esurance – Beginning Sunday, Sept. 10, immediately following the 49ers’ season opener against the Panthers (approx. 4 p.m.) on NBC Sports Bay Area, 49ers Postgame Live, “the official postgame show of the 49ers,” continues to be the leading destination for The Faithful, with comprehensive one-hour coverage featuring in-depth game analysis, locker room interviews and player reactions, full coverage of Coach Shanahan's and key players’ press conferences and a preview of the following week’s game. 49ers Postgame Live is hosted by Dave Feldman and features detailed postgame analysis from Dennis Brown and Jeff Garcia.  Matt Maiocco will also provide immediate postgame interviews and reaction from 49ers players and coaches.  49ers Postgame Live will broadcast from the field after home games.

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – June 21, 2018 – NBC Sports Bay Area (@NBCSAuthentic) announced today that Cori Starr of Northgate High School in Walnut Creek, Calif. is the winner of the 2018 All-Star Teacher Award, presented by Provident Credit Union (@ProvidentCU).  Starr has been awarded $20,000 for her school.  In addition, each All-Star Teacher Award runner-up will receive $2,000 for his/her school.

In its 12th year, the All-Star Teacher Award recognizes middle and high school teachers in Northern and Central California for their extraordinary dedication to their students and significant presence within their communities.  An esteemed panel of judges selected this year’s finalists based on four categories: Overall Commitment; Excellence in Teaching; Rapport with Students; and Level of Distinction.  This year’s five finalists are: Craig Bryant of Albany High School (Albany), Jennifer Click of Edison High School (Fresno), Sergio Hernandez of Katherine R. Smith Elementary (San Jose), Michael Ruibal of Black Diamond Continuation High School (Pittsburg) and 2018 All-Star Teacher Cori Starr of Northgate High School (Walnut Creek)

Since its inception in 2007, the All-Star Teacher Award program has donated $20,000 to public schools in Northern and Central California.  For the eighth straight year, NBC Sports Bay Area has teamed up with Provident Credit Union to award the winning teacher’s school $20,000, up from $10,000 in past years.

This year’s elite panel of judges consists of Doug Bartlett, Senior Marketing Director, BART; Benito Delgado-Olson, Executive Director and Founder, K to College; John Haggarty, VP Marketing of Provident Credit Union;  Lorena Hernandez, Director of Community Investment, Comcast California; Detra Paige, Director of Community Relations, Oakland Athletics;  and Sue Petersen, Executive Director of the Giants Community Fund.
