SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – January 23, 2020 – NBC Sports Bay Area today announced its multiplatform coverage of Super Bowl LIV – San Francisco 49ers vs. Kansas City Chiefs – which kicks off Monday, Jan. 27 and continues through Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 2. Over 40 hours of on-location coverage from Miami includes daily news, preview and analysis shows, press conferences and pre-and postgame shows. Plus, NBC Sports Bay Area will deliver game analysis and commentary from players, coaches and NFL insiders from Radio Row at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Throughout Super Bowl week, NBC Sports Bay Area will present live streams of its shows and daily 49ers coverage with the latest news, expert analysis and insider reports on the MyTeams by NBC Sports app and NBCSportsBayArea.com

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – April 24, 2020 – NBC Sports Bay Area and NBC Sports California, together with its team partners – MLB’s San Francisco Giants and Oakland A’s, NBA’s Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings, NHL’s San Jose Sharks, MLS’s San Jose Earthquakes and NFL’s San Francisco 49ers, along with the teams’ apparel and merchandise partner Fanatics – and San Francisco-based bag manufacturer Timbuk2 have teamed up to donate 50,000 face masks and bandanas in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The teams and NBC Sports have donated over 10,000 new t-shirts, and Timbuk2 will create cloth face masks and bandanas from the t-shirt material.

 

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the City and County of San Francisco recommend wearing a cloth face covering in public settings. Additionally, the CDC encourages the public to reserve N95 respirators and surgical masks for healthcare workers and other medical first responders. Timbuk2 is shifting production from bags to masks, working to fulfill the current demand for 50,000 cloth face coverings which will be donated to Bay Area Community Services, and other groups in need.

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – April 20, 2020 – NBC Sports Bay Area and NBC Sports California, in partnership with Take-Two Interactive’s NBA 2K20, today announced they will air a one-hour video game simulation of the Sacramento Kings versus the Golden State Warriors tomorrow, Tuesday, April 21st. The April 15th Kings-Warriors matchup was originally scheduled to be the last regular season game of the 2019-20 NBA season for both teams. 

 

NBC Sports California will air the simulation at 5 p.m. with the Kings announcers calling the action – play-by-play from Grant Napear and color analysis from Doug Christie – with Kayte Hunter handling the sideline reporter duties.  

 

At 11 p.m., NBC Sports Bay Area will air the simulation featuring Warriors broadcasters – play-by-play from Bob Fitzgerald and color analysis from Kelenna Azubuike –  with Kerith Burke handling the sideline reporter duties.

 

The artificial intelligence gameplay simulations will be conducted through Take-Two Interactive’s NBA 2K20. The viewer experience will include the same video and audio components of NBA 2K20 gameplay, along with the Kings and Warriors announcers calling the action on NBC Sports California and NBC Sports Bay Area, respectively. Additional content surrounding the simulations will be available on NBCSportsBayArea.com and on NBC Sports Bay Area’s social media platforms.
