Antonio Brown settles lawsuit stemming from furniture-throwing incident

Finally, some good news for Antonio Brown.

The Raiders’ star wide receiver has had a wild offseason filled with social media outbursts, a trade and a new contract.

OK, so it wasn't all bad.

Still, Brown probably was happy Monday when he agreed to settle a lawsuit that had been brought against him over an incident last spring in which the receiver allegedly got into an altercation with security at an apartment in South Florida, according to ESPN.

During the dispute, the 30-year-old allegedly threw items off the balcony of the apartment, including furniture, which nearly struck a 2-year-old boy.

The guardian of the child had been suing Brown for "intentional infliction of emotional distress and assault" when two vases, an ottoman and other pieces of furniture fell next to the boy who was at the pool area of The Mansions at Acqualina in Sunny Isles Beach, Fla.,, according to ESPN.

Brown still is being sued by the owner of the apartment. That lawsuit is ongoing.

With this legal issue behind him, Brown will prepare for his first season with the Silver and Black, hoping to reenergize a passing attack that was suboptimal in 2018.
