Former Raiders receiver Antonio Brown no longer Nike representative

Antonio Brown has another reason to worry about his feet. No, he doesn't have extreme frost bite again. But he will be looking for new shoes.

Nike has seen enough. The company told the Boston Globe that it cut ties with the former Raiders receiver Thursday. A Nike spokesperson declined to tell the newspaper the reasoning for the decision.

The only statement Nike provided the Globe was “Antonio Brown is not a Nike athlete.”

After a tumultuous offseason with the Raiders, the team released Brown the day before the regular season began. Brown signed with the Patriots hours later. His antics caused plenty of headaches for the Silver and Black, but they were not juvenile in nature. But recent allegations since his release show that might not always have been the case.

Days after Brown signed with the Patriots, his former trainer, Britney Taylor, filed a lawsuit against Brown alleging the star receiver sexually assaulted her three separate times, including "forcibly raping" her. Brown has denied these allegations.

Sports Illustrated's Robert Klemko recently did a deep dive on Brown that shows a pattern of disturbing behavior, including another report of sexual misconduct.

Nike introduced the “Nike Tech Trainer Antonio Brown” shoe in early February, one month before the Raiders acquired Brown from the Steelers for two NFL draft picks. The shoe was listed for $100, but no longer is seen on the company's website.
