Week 5 tussle
Peyton Manning and the 4-0 Broncos descended on Oakland to take on Derek Carr and the 2-2 Raiders Sunday.
Broncos strike first
After a scoreless first quarter, kicker Brandon McManus his a 25-yard field goal early in the second quarter to give the Broncos a 3-0 lead. In the first half, Peyton Manning completed 13-of-21 passes for 166 yards, no touchdowns and one interception.
Raiders answer back
With the Broncos leading 3-0, the Raiders marched down the field and capped off an eight-play, 80-yard drive with a 3-yard touchdown pass from Derek Carr to FB Marcel Reece.
The Raiders handed the ball to Latavius Murray early and often in the first half. The running back carried the ball 11 times for 32 yards in the first half.
Big half for Carr
Derek Carr was effective in the first half against the Broncos, completing 11-of-14 passes for 135 yards and one touchdown.
First-ever for Woodson
With the Broncos threatening to take the lead before halftime, Charles Woodson intercepted a Peyton Manning pass, the first time in his career that he's picked off Manning. The Raiders took a 7-3 lead into the locker room.
Fumble costs Raiders
On the Raiders' first drive of the second half, Von Miller sacked Derek Carr, forcing him to fumble. Miller recovered the punt and the Broncos turned it into a Brandon McManus 20-yard field goal to cut the deficit 7-6.
Once again, the Broncos' offense could get into the endzone. Halfway through the third quarter, Brandon McManus gave Denver a 9-7 lead with a 52-yard field goal.
Putting on a show
After never intercepting Peyton Manning during his entire career, Charles Woodson got his second of the day when he flew in to pick off a pass late in the third quarter.
With a chance for the Raiders to retake the lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter, Sebastian Janikowski missed a 40-yard field goal.
Pick-six seals it
The Raiders had a chance to pull out a win Sunday, but Chris Harris Jr. intercepted a Derek Carr pass in the fourth quarter and returned it 74 yards for a touchdown to give the Broncos a 16-7 lead.
