At the end of the day, Tom Brady just wants to win.
So, while most people considered it a ridiculous thought that the Patriots would sign Antonio Brown after the Raiders released him, Brady only saw one thing: An elite offensive weapon.
With Rob Gronkowski retiring, Brady needed another go-to weapon. So, when the Patriots decided to take a chance that Brown wouldn't go nuclear on them the same way he had the Steelers and Raiders, Brady didn't bat an eye.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft told NBC's Al Michaels that when he informed Brady that the team had agreed with Brown on a one-year contract, the 42-year-old quarterback was all about it.
"Kraft also told me that when he broke the news to Brady, Brady initially said, 'I'm 100 percent in,' " Michael said. "Two minutes later, Tom came back to Kraft and said, 'I'm 1,000 percent in.' Then he came back two minutes later and said, 'I'm one million percent in.' "

Brown's Oakland tenure was short-lived but memorable. After arriving via trade and promising to "set a new standard," the seven-time Pro-Bowl selection got frostbite on his feet, reportedly threatened to retire over the NFL's new helmet rule and cussed out Raiders general manager Mike Mayock over two fines. All that culminated in Brown requesting his release Saturday.
Now, he's a Patriot. Brady couldn't be happier.
