Nick Saban explains differences in Jerry Jeudy, Raiders' Henry Ruggs

The debate was all the rage heading into the NFL draft. Who was the better Alabama wide receiver: Jerry Jeudy or Henry Ruggs?

While the Raiders ended up making Ruggs the No. 1 receiver off the board with the No. 12 overall pick, Jeudy seemed to be the crown jewel from this year’s crop of receivers going into the event.

Nick Saban, who coached both down in Tuscaloosa, says the choice between them simply comes down to a matter of preference.

"So, if your personal preference was to have a speed receiver then Henry Ruggs is probably as good as it gets,” Saban said on NFL Network (h/t NFL.com). “If you wanted somebody who’s a little more of a finesse type player, great slot receiver, good option route runner than you probably would favor Jerry Jeudy."

Speed always has been the Raiders’ calling card, and Ruggs brings that in droves.

Jeudy ended up being selected at No. 15 to the Denver Broncos, so the two still will see each other twice a season in the AFC West.

On both sides, however, the defensive backs are going to have their hands full between these two former Crimson Tide standouts.
