Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger recently said he regrets the criticism he directed at former teammate Antonio Brown that, in his words, ultimately "ruined a friendship." The Raiders' shiny new toy at wide receiver, however, isn't buying it.
Not only that, Brown is denying the friendship ever existed in the first place.
"Never friends just had to get my ends.......shut up already," Brown posted in a since-deleted tweet on Tuesday.
So, AB deleted the tweet telling Ben to shut up, they were never friends. pic.twitter.com/4W7URYeen8— Warren Sharp (@SharpFootball) August 27, 2019
Brown has been a frequent offseason storyline ever since the Raiders acquired him from Pittsburgh back in March in exchange for 2019 third and fifth-round draft picks. He got sued by his former chef, missed large portions of training camp with frostbite on his feet and went back-and-forth with the league office in a dispute over his preferred helmet. Clearly, he doesn't intend to fade into the background anytime soon.
In that same interview with NBC Sports' Michele Tafoya, Roethlisberger said he hopes Oakland's new receiver enjoys a "good, healthy season."
We can't speculate about the healthy aspect from Brown's perspective, but safe to say that not all of those feelings are mutual.
