Raiders defeat Rams in 2015 exhibition opener
Carr drops back
Raiders quarterback Derek Carr drops back for a pass against the Rams in Oakland's first preseason game of the 2015 season. Carr finished 6-of-9 for 43 passing yards and an interception. He was picked off by St. Louis cornerback Turmaine Johnson in the red zone when attempting a quick slant to rookie Amari Cooper.
Raiders' No. 4 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, Amari Cooper, runs after a catch in his NFL debut on Friday night. The Alabama product nabbed three passes for 22 yards, including a long catch of 12 yards.
Rams score first
Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein gets St. Louis on the board first with a 31-yard field goal in the first quarter, making it 3-0.
Raiders tie it up
Veteran placekicker Sebastian Janikowski ties the game for the Raiders in the first quarter with a 44-yard field goal, evening it up at 3-all.
Taking the lead
Wideout Andre Holmes hauls in a three-yard touchdown pass from Raiders backup quarterback Christian Ponder, giving Oakland a 9-3 lead over St. Louis in the second quarter.
New Bay Area home
After a six-year career with the 49ers, wide receiver Michael Crabtree makes his debut for the Raiders. He finished with two catches for 15 yards before exiting the game.
Raiders third-string quarterback Matt McGloin was sharp Friday against St. Louis, seeing a good portion of work. He completed 10 of 11 passes for 104 yards, with a touchdown and no interceptions. His highlight play was a touchdown pass to Brice Butler.
The Raiders defeated the Rams by a score of 18-3 on Friday at the O.co Coliseum. There were plenty of positive signs for the team's first outing under new head coach Jack Del Rio.
