Raiders' Jacobs, Abram out vs. Jets; Ferrell will play

After coming off a nasty 43-6 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12, the Raiders got hit with more bad news Friday.

Head coach Jon Gruden says running back Josh Jacobs and safety Johnathan Abram are both out against the New York Jets for Sunday’s game. However, defensive lineman Clelin Ferrell will return to action.

Jacobs remained sidelined at practice as he deals with an ankle injury. Abram is battling a knee injury.

Ferrell was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list for the last two weeks, so his return to playing has been highly anticipated.

Heading into the Week 13 matchup, it appears Devontae Booker will replace Jacobs and safety Jeff Heath looks to take on more responsibilities for the injured Abram.

The Jets currently are at an 0-11 record, but QB Derek Carr and the Raiders can't afford to take any chances even against struggling Sam Darnold and Co.
