Raiders' Mike Mayock gives statement addressing Antonio Brown situation

The short Mike Mayock statement regarding Antonio Brown is becoming a trend.

Following reports that the Raiders planned to suspend their star receiver after he got into an altercation with Mayock, the team's general manager issued a short statement to the media Thursday during practice.

"Antonio Brown is not in the building today, won't be practicing," Mayock told reporters at the team's facility in Alameda. "I don't have anymore information for you right now, and when I have some and it becomes appropriate, you guys will all get it. I promise you."

Mayock issued a similarly brief statement during training camp after Brown missed a walkthrough due to his issues with the NFL's helmet policy. Mayock asked Brown to either be "all-in or all-out," and it appeared the four-time All-Pro was all-in after getting a new helmet and a sponsorship deal to boot.

But Brown became irritated Wednesday when he posted a notice from the Raiders saying the team was fining him for missing the walkthrough and other practices during training camp.

The Raiders appear to be laying the groundwork to suspend the receiver for conduct detrimental to the team, and if they do that then the Raiders could void the remaining $29.125 million in guaranteed money that Brown is owed over the next two seasons and cut him without penalty.

The star receiver has Hall-of-Fame talent, but his act clearly is wearing thin with Mayock.

The drama is far from over between Brown and the Raiders.
