SAN DIEGO – Injury issues thinned out the Raiders defensive line. That prompted a move for reinforcements.

The Raiders promoted versatile end/tackle Shelby Harris on Saturday afternoon, adding a piece to a rotation missing Denico Autry. He has been rule out with a concussion, and Justin Ellis is doubtful with an ankle sprain. This move suggests the expected, that Ellis won’t play in Sunday’s road game against the San Diego Chargers.

Harris will be a reserve behind ends Mario Edwards Jr. and C.J. Wilson.

The seventh-round pick from 2014 played in one game last year. He has spent most of his time as a professional on the practice squad.

Safety Tevin McDonald was waived in a corresponding move. McDonald likely be signed to the practice squad if he clears waivers.
