Raiders secondary ailing with Joseph, Amerson out vs Bills

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – The Raiders will benefit from injuries in the Buffalo secondary. The Bills are missing starting safety Jordan Poyer and cornerback E.J. Gaines. That should create windows for Derek Carr and the Raiders passing game.

Tyrod Taylor is in the same spot.

The Buffalo Bills quarterback will benefit from injuries to safety Karl Joseph and cornerback David Amerson. Dexter McDonald and Shalom Luani will fill in for those guys, respectively, in the Raiders backfield.

That’s as important as the weather, which is blustery at best. The team that deals with injuries and inclement conditions best could emerge victorious in a game the Raiders desperately need.

The Silver and Black’s linebacker issues improves somewhat with Cory James active after missing most of two games with a knee injury. He will start next to veteran NaVorro Bowman, who must have a solid performance in the middle. Rookie Marquel will miss a third game with an ankle sprain.

In addition, quarterback Connor Cook, cornerback Gareon Conley and offensive tackles Jylan Ware and David Sharpe are inactive.
