Rams star Aaron Donald fined for low hit on Raiders QB Derek Carr

Aaron Donald hit Derek Carr hard Monday night. Now, Donald's getting hit hard in the pocketbook.

On Friday, the NFL announced Donald was fined $20,054 for a roughing the passer penalty against the Raiders quarterback.

The Rams defensive tackle was penalized for roughing the passer late in the first quarter Monday, hitting Carr low around his knees. The Raiders faced a 13-yard second down on their own 22-yard line, but Donald's penalty wiped out the play, and Oakland marched down the field to kick a go-ahead field goal to take a 10-7 lead, the Raiders' penultimate lead in a 33-13 loss.

For the second-highest paid defensive player in NFL history, right behind former Raiders edge rusher Khalil Mack, $20,000 is just the cost of doing business. Of course, that's easier to swallow when you've got $87 million guaranteed coming your way.
