The San Jose City Council approved a 200,000 square-foot expansion of Solar4America Ice at San Jose, which adds two additional recreational sheets of ice to the facility. That brings the total to six sheets of ice, including one which will be the new home of the Barracuda, the Sharks' AHL affiliate.
The expansion also will make the facility the largest under one roof west of the Mississippi River.
