Gabriel chirping with Sharks opponent before third straight game

Kurtis Gabriel has become the Sharks' designated chirper.

For the third straight game, the fourth-year forward was engaged in a heated discussion with one of his opponents.

On Monday, Gabriel and veteran St. Louis Blues winger Kyle Clifford were seen talking in front of the team's benches roughly 30 minutes before their game.

It got very animated.

Gabriel's streak of chirping started Friday when the archrival Vegas Golden Knights came to town. Sharks nemesis Ryan Reaves had words for the 27-year-old Shark, and it eventually led to an epic fight between the two players at the beginning of the third period.

On Saturday night, before the rematch between the Sharks and Golden Knights, Gabriel and Reaves got into it again, though they didn't scrap in that game.

Sure enough, Gabriel and Clifford turned their pregame conversation into an in-game kerfuffle shortly after the puck dropped in the first period.
